Today, March 20th and 21st 2026, the Earth reaches one of its most sacred points of equilibrium.

The Equinox, where day and night stand in perfect balance across the planet. This is not only

an Astronomical alignment, it is a living threshold, a moment where light and darkness meet as equals before the wheel turns once more.

This point has been honored for thousands of years through what is known as the Wheel of the Year, an ancient cyclical calendar rooted in early Agrarian and Pagan traditions of Europe. These seasonal festivals were born from humanity’s deep observation of nature’s rhythms, marking solstices, equinoxes, and the spaces in between as sacred gateways of transformation.

Spring, Ostara, dances through the Equinox's light, laughing in bloom, while Autumn, Mabon, reaches gently with hands full of gold. At their meeting, the Astrological New Year awakens, where love becomes the bridge between what fades and what begins.
Spring, Ostara, dances through the Equinox's light, laughing in bloom, while Autumn, Mabon, reaches gently with hands full of gold. At their meeting, the Astrological New Year awakens, where love becomes the bridge between what fades and what begins.

In the Northern Hemisphere, this Spring Equinox is known as Ostara, a celebration of renewal, fertility, and the return of life. Its origins trace back to Germanic and Anglo-Saxon traditions, associated with the Goddess Ēostre, a figure of dawn, rebirth, and the blossoming of the Earth. This is the season where seeds break through the soil, where light overtakes darkness, and

where life begins again in visible form.

In this same moment, in the Southern Hemisphere, Mabon is being experienced, the Autumn Equinox, the harvest of balance. Rooted in Celtic traditions and named in modern times to honor ancient harvest festivals. Mabon represents completion, gratitude, and the gentle release of what has reached its fullness. It is the second harvest, a time of gathering, reflection, and preparation for descent.

Though opposite in expression, both Ostara and Mabon speak the same truth, life moves in cycles, and balance is the gateway between endings and beginnings.

Astrologically, this sacred balance is mirrored perfectly.

In the days leading into this shift, the New Moon in Pisces on March 18th and 19th marked the quiet completion of the astrological cycle. As well on March 18th, Venus in Aries formed a dynamic square to Jupiter in Cancer, stretching the heart between desire and emotional truth, while Mars in Pisces forms a trine to Jupiter shortly after, on the 21st, allowing action to be guided by intuition, compassion, and deeper awareness.

As the Equinox opens, the Sun enters Aries.

This marks the beginning of the Astrological New Year, the moment where the Sun returns to 0 degrees of Aries, the first Sign of the Zodiac. Aries is emergence, initiation, the spark of life that follows dissolution. It is the living expression of Ostara’s rebirth, the fire that rises after the

waters of Pisces have completed their release, like Mabon shedding its golden leaves. With

Venus, Saturn, and Neptune already in Aries, this beginning carries both vision and structure,

both longing and responsibility. It is not only a spark, it is a conscious ignition.

On this same day, Mercury turns direct in Pisces after nearly a month of retrograde motion that began around February 25th and 26th. The mind, having traveled through memory, emotion, and inner reflection, now begins to move forward again, carrying a deeper, more intuitive clarity into this new cycle.

This is where the wheel turns. The end and the beginning are not separate, they are the same moment seen from two directions.

May you stand gently in this sacred balance, and begin this new re-birth cycle with both bravery and gratitude.
