The Scribe Meets the Gatekeeper: Saturn squares Mercury.
The story begins with Mercury still cloaked in Virgo’s earthly robes, carrying the sharp tools of discernment and the love of detail. On September 17th 2025 he meets Saturn, retrograding through Pisces, in a square that feels like a tug-of-war between clarity and confusion, structure and surrender. Mercury wants order, Saturn asks for patience, and together they weave a moment where words may feel heavy and conversations may echo with the past. The nodes remind us of the larger story: the North Node calling us toward Pisces, toward faith and imagination, while the South Node in Virgo tugs us back into habits of perfection. It is as though Mercury is asked to choose between the comfort of precision and the leap into unknowing.
The Diplomat Enters the Dreamer’s Fog: Mercury enters Libra and squares Neptune.
By the very next day, September 18th Mercury shifts shape, leaving Virgo for Libra. His stride softens, his voice becomes more tuned to balance and relationship. Yet almost immediately he squares Neptune retrograde in Aries, and the air shimmers with distortion. What looks fair may be clouded by illusion, what feels beautiful may be tinged with projection. It is a moment of dreamy conversation where words may not hold steady. Neptune whispers possibilities, but Mercury must listen carefully to discern whether they are visions or mirages.

The Winds of Revelation: Mercury trines Uranus and Pluto
in an Grand Air Trine.
On September 19th the tale brightens. Mercury in Libra finds himself in harmony, in av trine with Uranus retrograde in Gemini and another trine with Pluto retrograde in Aquarius. This Air Trine feels like the wind suddenly lifting him higher, giving wings to thought, clarity, and inspiration. The conversations begun earlier in the week may suddenly break free of heaviness. Uranus sends sparks of surprise, Pluto deepens the current, and Mercury translates it all into connection. Here is the breath of fresh insight, the moment when the story shifts from fog to flight.
The Eclipse of Forgotten Patterns: Equinox and New Moon Solar Eclipse in Virgo opposite Saturn and the Nodes.
The culmination arrives with the equinox on September 21st. In the north, the day holds the balance before descending into longer nights. In the south, it heralds the return of spring. At the same threshold in the sky, the New Moon in Virgo appears, Mercury’s own sign, yet this is no ordinary lunation. It is the second and last New Moon in Virgo, tied to the South Node, and it darkens into a Solar Eclipse. The story grows more mythic as this eclipse stands opposite Saturn retrograde and the North Node in Pisces. Here the tension of the earlier days crescendos. Virgo clings to its careful weaving of detail, Saturn asks for responsibility, but Pisces opens the gates to a vaster sea.
It may feel as though Mercury himself pauses in mid-flight, holding both his staff and the weight of choice. Do we remain bound to the habits of analysis, or do we open to the call of mystery? The eclipse reminds us that what is familiar may need to be released, so that what is tender and unformed can enter. The equinox underscores the balance of opposites: light and dark, order and chaos, precision and surrender.
And so Mercury’s journey across these September skies reads as a fable of thresholds. First the clash of clarity and discipline, then the haze of illusion, then the gift of inspiration, and finally the great turning of the seasons accompanied by eclipse. Each step is both delicate and profound, a reminder that thought itself is a path, and that even Mercury must sometimes surrender his cleverness to the vast rhythms beyond him.
Much love to all, Valentina.
