The Mayan New Year arrives on July 26th 2025. A gentle threshold in time, honored for centuries as a moment of renewal. In the Mayan calendar, this day marks the beginning of a new sacred cycle. And while it may not be marked on every modern calendar, it echoes something deeper, a rhythm that stirs just beneath the surface. The Tzolkin spins its yearly wheel.

What makes this moment especially potent is what begins to unfold in the sky. Around this time each year, the star Sirius begins to rise in close proximity to the sun. Known as the brightest star in our sky, Sirius has long been held as something more than just a celestial body. Across cultures, it has been called our spiritual sun, not because it gives us physical light and warmth, but because it carries a subtler kind of illumination. A symbolic guide. A messenger of the soul.

Within the spiral stardust embrace of Hunab'ku, as the great cosmic wheel begins its cycle again, entities from all realms unite in harmony to celebrate the Mayan New Year under the luminous glow of the Galactic Central Sun.

As Sirius begins to rise in the early morning sky, just before dawn, it aligns with our sun in a way that creates what many describe as a kind of portal. An opening. A moment when higher frequencies and deeper insights feel more accessible. This alignment builds over the coming days and weeks, reaching its peak on August 8th, a date often called the Lion’s Gateway.

The symbolism of this is rich. August 8th sits in the heart of Leo season, a time connected with self-expression, courage, and the heart. And the number eight, repeated twice in this date, has long been associated with infinity and balance. Together, they form a gateway, one that many feel as an invitation to step into greater alignment with the self, to listen to the inner sun, to open to a wider perspective.

This isn't a new phenomenon. In ancient Egypt, the rising of Sirius marked the beginning of their year too. It was timed with the annual flooding of the Nile, a sacred renewal that brought life back to the land. The pyramids themselves were aligned with the stars, built in harmony with the movements of Sirius and Orion. These weren’t just structures. They were vessels of meaning, designed to catch the light of a sky that spoke in symbols.

When we connect with this time now, we are stepping into a lineage of cosmic attunement. Not to seek answers, but to listen. To feel the way the Earth tilts toward the light. To remember that we are part of a larger movement, and that some thresholds aren’t meant to be rushed through. They are meant to be honored.

So if you find yourself feeling a shift as July closes and August opens, you are not imagining it. This is a season of inner alignment. A time when the skies above may reflect a quiet opening within.

Let this be a soft turning.

A portal not into something new, but into something more deeply known.

A remembering. A return.

Much love to all, Valentina.
